I have been "Kenny's brother" my whole life. It started in grade school when I would get one of the teachers he had a couple years before me. "Are you Kenny's brother?" they would always ask. It continued through high school, and today it still continues in the small town of Manti, UT where both my brother and I live. When I tell people my last name, I know what's coming next. "Are you related to Kenny?" Yes I am. We are The "Other" Kirkhams.

Our St. George Vacation...
At the end of June we took our annual vacation with Melanie's family. This year we packed up and headed for St. George and 105 degree weather! Despite the weather, we had a great trip and spent a lot of time in the swimming pool! We hung out, went swimming, played miniature golf, and drove through Zions National Park. Once I get everyone's pictures together I will be making a video of the trip!

Raeleigh's Birthday Party!
Ethan's cousin Raeleigh had her birthday party on June 23rd. Apparently all she wanted was a horse-themed party. The cake was shaped like a horse, and her dad even had one of his football players bring a couple of his horses over for the kids to ride.
Raeleigh got a little scared once she was next to the real live horse and I don't think she even rode it! Ethan was a little scared at first too, but he finally got brave enough to take a ride with his Aunt Brittany. After that he even sat on it all by himself (with a little help from mom)!

Heritage Park in Manti
We took a trip down to the new Heritage Park in Manti. This is really a beautiful park right across from the Temple. It's not quite finished yet, but it is really well done. There is an outdoor amphitheater, a reflecting pond, and right now one statue. I think they have plans to add more statues and informational plaques throughout the park.
Ethan loved the park. He got to throw some pennies into the reflecting pond, and then hammed it up as he posed with the statues and danced on the amphitheater stage. Great stuff!

Summer Fun...Slip n' Slide!
One of Ethan's most favorite new things this year has been water...anything to do with it! The sink in the bathroom, the tub, the sprinklers, you name it! He was especially excited when Grandma Dixie set up her Slip n' Slide for the first time this year!
At first he was excited about it, but then got a little bit overwhelmed watching all the other kids run and slide down it. When we eventually got him the water though, he didn't want to get out!
Scottish Festival
This weekend was the annual Scottish Festival at Thanksgiving Point in Lehi, UT. They have food, bagpipes, dancing, and highland games...as well as most of the family clans represented there with information booths, and more.
Ethan got to have his first snow cone while we sat and watched people competing in the Highland Games. We saw the women doing the caber toss, and the men doing the other weight toss events (hammer throw, sheaf toss, etc.).
